Why the waste number matters
A perfect half barrel gives 124 pints, but no bar gets that. Foam from a warm keg or wrong pressure, line cleaning, first pours and over-pours all eat into it. At $7 a pint, every 5% of waste on a half barrel is about $43 of lost sales.
Compare kegs bought with draft sales in your POS each week. If sales are far below the pours this calculator expects, look at foam, pressure and free pours first.
